| Who is the Federation of Families for Mental Health? |
|
The Federation of Families is a national parent-run organization formed in 1989 as a grass roots initiative by parents to address funding, legislative agendas, treatment series, best practices and other national agendas that attempt to meet the needs of children with mental health, behavioral and emotional needs. Prior to that time, no national organization was organized to advocate for all the needs of children 1-18 years of age, and no such groups are mandated to be parent-directed and child-focused. The Federation is a network of local and state chapters and the national organization based in Alexandria, VA.
